WHAT WE'RE ABOUT
The Punchbowl with its characterful accommodation is the ideal place to stay whether for its own interesting history, to see Blenheim Palace, or to visit Churchill's grave in the nearby village of Bladon.
Oxford City with its colleges, museums and dreaming spires is within easy access by car or the convenient and regular bus service.
Woodstock is a town steeped in history and is situated just to the north of Oxford. It began as a coach stop around the Royal hunting lodge, which later became the site of Blenheim Palace, stately home of the Dukes of Marlborough since the early 1700's.
The town has an active local business community and makes provision for most everyday needs of visitors without having to venture too far: Post Office, bank, supermarket, newsagent, cafes, restaurants, art galleries and a wide range of shops are all situated in the town centre. There are lots of local folk with boundless character, all forming the bustling community which we are
sure you will enjoy experiencing during your visit.
MODERN, CONTEMPORARY AND CALMING BAR
Our Bar has been fully refurbished into a relaxing & comfortable place to be. We are proud to serve artisan ales from 2 local breweries, each with a great heritage of which they are fiercly proud.
Arkell's brewery was established in Swindon in 1843 to keep the great men who built the world famous Great Western Railway watered.
In excess of 170 years later, the brewery is still going strong today.
We also feature the occasional guest ale from the Donnington brewery, based in the heart of the Cotswolds at Stow on the Wold.
Alongside our artisan ales, we serve a great selection of lagers, ciders and stouts as well as an array of quality wines, spirits and soft drinks.
We stock a broad range of craft beers from around the world - perfectly chilled to enjoy.
We serve great coffee all day every day too - not to mention our indulgent cakes and sweet treats.
Make sure you try our ultimate gooey, crackled fudge brownie made fresh here - great with a scoop of Callestick Farm vanilla ice cream
