The Punchbowl offers 9 beautifully refurbished guest rooms, thoughtfully redesigned from the ground up as part of a recent major renovation. Each room has been stripped back to its original shell and reimagined with calming tones, quality fittings, and—most importantly—exceptionally comfortable beds to ensure a truly restful night’s sleep.
Our classy accommodation near Oxford and the Cotswolds combines comfort, charm, and character. Whether you’re staying for business, leisure, or a countryside escape, our rooms provide a warm and welcoming base.
Most rooms are family-friendly, offering flexible options to suit different group sizes:

Each room includes 24-hour access and modern amenities such as a UHD 4K Smart TV, complimentary WiFi, a hospitality tray with tea, coffee and biscuits, a fan, a fan heater, and a hairdryer.
An iron and ironing board are available on request.
All rooms are designed to feel stylish yet homely—full of warmth, charm, and comfort.
The Punchbowl is ideally located for Oxford, Witney, the Cotswolds, and Blenheim Palace, making it perfect for sightseeing, events, and business travel
Our room tariff includes up to 2 guests. Additional guests are charged at £30 per night per person, automatically calculated at the time of booking.
Breakfast is available at an additional cost and must be pre-booked either at the time of reservation or on check-in. Please note breakfast is not served on Monday mornings (except Bank Holidays).
We have a small on-site car park to the rear of the inn, available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved. If full, free public parking is available just 100 metres away behind the Fire Station.
We have 2 electric vehicle charging points available, subject to availability at additional cost.
Dog-Friendly Stays
Dogs are very welcome at The Punchbowl. A charge of £15 per dog applies, with a maximum of 2 dogs per room.

** We have 2 Deluxe King rooms at the front of the building. The view of the town is lovely however, these rooms are road side so inevitably there will be some traffic noise. If you'd prefer a quieter room, we have 2 towards the rear of the hotel. If requested, we will try our best to allocate a quieter room if available

Family Suite
Accommodates up to 5 or 6 people
Our Family Suite is made up out of 2 separate areas connected with a small corridor.
One area is furnished with a super comfy king size bed and a trundle bed, 2' 3" wide.
The other area has twin 2' 6" beds that are zip/link and can be made up as a king size with 24 hours notice and subject to availability. There is a £30 surcharge for this adaption.
Also, space for an additional Z bed too.
This suite is ideal for families where mum & dad and the
children* have their own space.
Its also ideal for groups of 3 or 4 adults too.
*Children are classed as 15 years of age or younger
*Tariff is for up to 2 people. Additional people are +£30 each per night.

Parking at the Punchbowl
We are fortunate to have our own small car park here at The Punchbowl.
This car park is for our guests to use during your time with us.
WE ARE UNABLE TO GUARANTEE or RESERVE SPACES
We have 2 x EV charging points available.
Parking is by PERMIT ONLY. A valid permit MUST be displayed prominently in your car.
Permits are available from the bar / reception area.
Hotel guests:- the car park is available from 3pm on the day of checking in until 12 noon on your departure day.
Restaurant guests:- you are welcome to use the car park for the duration of your time spent in the building.
Unfortunately, we are unable to facilitate parking while you are not physically on the premises.
Failure to display a valid permit WILL result in a Penalty Charge Notice being issued.
In the event that our car park is full, there is a public car park just 100m away behind the Fire Station on Hensington Road.
Currently this is free of charge for 12 hours. This car park has 12 EV charging points.
There is also on street parking throughout the town on a Pay & Display basis
IMPORTANT!!!
Our car park control is run by an external company and as such we are unable to issue permits outside of our opening times.
The parking company check our car park regularly so parking without a valid permit risks being charged
Restaurant Guests - It's not possible to issue a permit before your scheduled booking time
Room Guests - It's not possible to issue a permit until we check you in
In the event that you arrive early, parking your car without a permit carries the risk of a penalty charge which is out of our control
